Dentures are extremely beneficial because they replace your missing teeth and give you the smile you’ve always wanted without the need for surgery. Although they are strong and reliable, you still need to do all you can to keep them in tip-top shape, and Dr. German G. Jaquez is more than happy to help you do so.

In order to properly clean your replacement teeth, you need to rinse the appliance after you’ve eaten a meal or snack. This can help you keep a clean and pristine denture. Be careful as you rinse the denture. If you drop it, it could break.

You also need to clean your mouth and denture daily. You can do so by brushing, flossing, and rinsing your remaining natural teeth (if you have any) regularly. If you don’t have remaining teeth, you can clean your gums and the rest of the mouth with a soft toothbrush or washcloth. When cleaning your denture, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and denture cleaner (or nonabrasive toothpaste if you don’t have denture cleaner). Use these tools to remove the plaque and food particles that gather on your appliance.

Lastly, soak your denture at night while you sleep. All you need to do is place your appliance in a cup of water or mild denture cleaning solution. It’s recommended to keep the denture moist so it can stay in pristine condition.
